Description

1936 Norfolk Half Dollar, MS68+
Virtually Unimprovable

1936 50C Norfolk MS68+ NGC. Champagne surfaces deepen slightly to russet-brown around the peripheries. Luster is deep and strong. The Norfolk half marks another obscure event during the height of the 1936 craze: the 300th anniversary of the original land grant on which Norfolk was founded, as well as the 200th anniversary of its transition from a village to a borough government. Despite the obscurity, the present offering is one of the best surviving examples. Census: 183 in 68 (11 in 68+, 15 in 68 , 2 in 68+ ), 1 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N1793)
