Description

    1936-D Cincinnati Half Dollar, MS67
    None Certified Finer at NGC

1936-D 50C Cincinnati MS67 NGC. Thomas Melish, the sponsor of the 1936 Cincinnati half dollar, originally requested that the Denver Mint issue number only 2,000 pieces, with the bulk of the authorized 15,000 coins coming from San Francisco and Philadelphia. This plan to create an instant rarity was thwarted by Congress, and the issue was evenly split between the three mints. This spectacular Superb Gem displays well-detailed design elements and lustrous surfaces, with accents of light gold and pink toning. Census: 28 in 67, 0 finer (10/12).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# BYCK, PCGS# 9284)

    Weight: 12.50 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
