Description

1937 50C Arkansas PDS Set, Uncertified. This is an original, intact PDS set of the 1937 Arkansas Centennial half dollars, including the 1937, 1937-D, and 1937-S coins. The three coins remain raw, encased in the original velvet-lined presentation case in which they were originally distributed by Stack's in 1937. Each piece is originally and delightfully toned with varying amber, russet, and golden hues over an ivory underlay of satiny luster, with no obtrusive abrasions. The toning is as naturally acquired from contact with the slots of the velvet case. Includes the original blue Stack's certificate that accompanied the coins, and the original cardboard mailing box, postal stamped 1937 and shipped to Providence, Rhode Island. A delightful piece, preserved in its original encasement as it is, and one of this cataloger's favorite pieces in the collection offered here.
