1937-S 50C Boone MS67+ PCGS. The obverse of this commemorative half dollar represents a likeness of Daniel Boone, the famous frontiersman who was born in 1734 and died in 1820. There is only one known portrait of Boone that was made in 1820, just prior to Boone's death. The first Boone half dollars were struck in 1934, and a series of issues continued through 1938, including distribution of 2,506 examples struck at San Francisco in 1937. This Superb Gem displays brilliant satin luster with vibrant champagne and gold toning. Population: 78 in 67 (15 in 67+), 4 finer (1/25).(Registry values: N2998)
