Toned Prooflike 1937-S Boone Half, MS67

1937-S 50C Boone MS67 Prooflike NGC. Unbelievably, the Bagne Collection has two of the three certified 1937-S Boone halves in MS67 Prooflike. This piece offers the bidder choice, toning rather than a brilliant example as above. Both sides of this carefully preserved Superb Gem display considerable reflectivity beneath scattered golden-bronze patina. A few flecks of deeper violet toning appear in the obverse fields as well. As one might expect from a production run of only 2,506 halves, a number of 1937-S Boones have reflective surfaces, and roughly one-fifth of the coins graded by NGC have received a Prooflike designation. Of course, few of those grade so highly as the present piece. One of just three pieces known to NGC in MS67 Prooflike, with no finer Prooflike examples extant (3/07).
