1953-D 50C Washington-Carver MS67 PCGS. The 1953-D
Washington-Carver commemorative half dollar claims a mintage of
only 8,003 pieces, with relatively few having been certified in
better Mint State grades. This spectacular Superb Gem is among the
finest seen at PCGS and NGC, as neither service has graded a finer
example (10/25). Highlights of sea-green and lavender-gray toning
visit the impeccably preserved surfaces, and the design elements
are well-struck. Highly lustrous surfaces reveal a few
insignificant light ticks. This piece is vastly superior in
technical quality and aesthetic appeal to the majority of this
issue which were poorly struck on imperfect planchets and
mishandled during the distribution process. Population: 8 in 67, 0
