Description

1928 Hawaiian MS 62 Questionable Toning. Bright, flashy surfaces appear beneath a uniform layer of iridescent sea-green toning. While this type of color is not unusual on Hawaiian half dollars, we suspect that it might have been applied in an effort to improve this coin's appearance. We arrive at this conclusion by noting scuff marks on the highpoints which normally would have removed the toning, but in this case they are covered by it.
