Costa Rica: Central American Republic gold 8 Escudos 1828 CR-F VF30 PCGS,...
Description
Central American Republic gold 8 Escudos 1828 CR-F VF30 PCGS, San Jose mint, KM17, Fr-1, Onza-1746 (Rare). Mintage: 5,302. One of the most important numismatic issues of Costa Rican origin, struck in San Jose at the country's brand new Casa Nacional de Moneda, under the Central American Republic. Offered with a "details" designation just as often as not, problem-free examples that saw circulation but avoided damage or improper handling are prized selections to collectors. This particular piece saw extensive, but honest wear, and is blessed with a sunface that still exhibits solid facial detail and an ochre patina with blushes of lighter tangerine tones. Choice for the assigned grade, a perfect selection for a more modest entry into this prized series.Metal: Gold
