Description
Central American Republic gold Escudo 1833-E CR, KM14, AU53 NGC, nicely struck on both sides with no adjustment marks or other flaws. The extra metal in the reverse legends is the result of rusty dies. A choice lustrous piece with just a slight hint of wear on the Ceiba tree. Rare date without the lion counterstamp applied in 1849.The Cecil Webster Collection of Costa Rica.
