    Two Cut Segments Plus Five Classic Counterstamped Coins.
    This seven-piece lot includes two circulated cut segments from Spanish American coinage plus five well-known counterstamped silver coins listed in the Gregory Brunk Merchant and Privately Countermarked Coins reference. The cut pieces (no countermarks) include a 2-bit piece cut from a Carolus III 8 reales and a 1-bit segment from an unknown 2 reales piece. The counterstamped coins include CONSULT / DR. DARBY / BOSTON on a 1780 2 reales piece, Brunk D-78; a San Francisco saloon piece with the circular countermark CORNER MONTG & COMMERCIAL ST. around SAN / J. T. JONES / FRANCO. on an 1807 2 reales, Brunk J-218; I.B.B. / ST. LOUIS / MO on an 1803 2 reales piece, believed to be the mark of St. Louis merchant (and slave trader) Isaac B. Burbayge, Brunk B-45; A. KNIGHT'S / MINERAL / WATER SALOON / 99 / BALTO STREET on a 1785 2 reales, Brunk K-287; and ADMIT / TO / WOOD'S / MINSTRELS / 444 BDWAY / N. Y. on an 1803 2 reales piece, Brunk W-796, the famous successor to Christy and Wood's Minstrels.
