Description

Prince George 5 Drachmai 1901, KM9, UNC, lightly dipped long ago and now with appealing golden patina emerging in the peripheral legends. The strike is razor sharp and there is no indication of wear on even the highest points of the design. The exposed fields display some extremely faint hairlines but retain a lustrous, almost reflective quality. Extremely rare type in mint state, missing in even the most advanced collections of modern Greek coinage. There is one tiny rim nick on the obverse at 6 o'clock, mentioned for absolute accuracy only.
