Republic copper-nickel "Hot Air Balloon" Peso 1984 MS68 NGC, Havana mint, KM172, Aledon-PPV4. Mintage: 23. This design was intended to be incorporated into the Means of Transportation series that ran from 1983 to 1988. It was ultimately not approved but 23 pieces were minted before that decision was communicated to the Havana mint. This is one of two examples we are offering in this very sale, both tied for the highest grade across NGC and PCGS.Metal: Copper-Nickel
