    Description

    1796 JR-2 Dime, Appealing VF25

1796 10C JR-2, R.4, VF25 PCGS. The date is spaced 1 79 6 and LIBE and RTY are evenly spaced, but the two groups crowd together with E and R touching. Star 15 touches the bust. The reverse shows an inner berry between the leaves and bow on the left, and leaves touch N, T1, E3, and A3. Attractive copper-rose color graces both sides of this moderately circulated first-year dime. A loupe reveals the expected thin marks and wear, the former more prominent on the obverse, but the essential appeal and collectibility remain. A very scarce die marriage. (NGC ID# 236B, Variety PCGS# 38743, Base PCGS# 4461)

    Weight: 2.70 grams
