    Elusive 1801 JR-2 Dime

    1801 10C JR-2, R.5.--Damaged--NCS. XF Details. Intermingled light gray and charcoal gray toning. Liberty's hair details are sharp for the grade. Softness is noted at the eagle's breast and on the stars above the eagle's head. Some scattered marks account for the NCS label designation, the most conspicuous of which is a scratch extending from the top of Liberty's head to her drapery and there is a cut on star eleven on the reverse. Later die state with extensive die rust and the die crack through the E of AMERICA to the shield and another from the rim up through the arrow feathers, claw and into the shield.
