Description

1802 JR-2 Dime, Fine 15
Attractive Grey and Apricot Example

1802 10C JR-2, R.5, Fine 15 PCGS. Light-steel surfaces contain apricot overtones. Abrasions are minimal, and weakness exists at the nose and the right half of the shield. The JR-2 die marriage is of medium rarity, eclipsed by the R.6 JR-3 and semi-unique JR-1, but the R.4 JR-4 is more common. None of the JR-2's reverse die cracks appear on this coin, of which there are four in its terminal state, along with an extremely rare obverse cud that covers the 2 in the date and the region under the bust.
