    Description

1802 10C JR-4, R.4 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. VF. Ex: Hilt Collection. JR-4 is a scarce variety, but is nonetheless the most often seen of the four 1802 dime die pairings. This scarcity is due in part to total reported mintage of just 10,975 pieces for the entire issue. This example shows evidence of old cleaning, but has since acquired consistent golden-gray toning over each side. Light wear over the devices does not overly impede the well-executed strike.
