    Description

    Near-Gem 1805 Dime
    JR-2, Four Berries

1805 10C 4 Berries MS64 PCGS. JR-2, R.2. The slightly more accessible of two reverses sharing a common obverse, with four berries on the olive sprig instead of five on the scarce JR-1. Both varieties are available in circulated grades and even into the lower reaches of Mint State, but a near-Gem example such as this is another story. Subtly glimmering luster is light silver and peach overall with tan and blue-violet elements along parts of the margins, the last hue most notably at the eagle's right (facing) wingtip. A few outer design elements are soft, such as the first couple of obverse stars, but the interior detail is better. For the Four Berries variety, Population: 32 in 64 (2 in 64+), 19 finer (2/13).(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 236S, PCGS# 4477)

    Weight: 2.70 grams

    Metal: 89.24% Silver, 10.76% Copper
