Description

1795 Draped Bust Dollar, XF45
Centered Bust, B-15, BB-52

1795 $1 Draped Bust, Centered, B-15, BB-52, R.2, XF45 PCGS. Bowers Die State V. Bolender-15 is believed to be second Draped Bust die variety, following B-14, which had an uncentered placement of the Draped Bust punch. Both B-14 and B-15 are Guide Book varieties, since the remaining 1795 varieties display the Flowing Hair design. The present stone-gray example retains luster within the eagle's wings and the leaves of the wreath. Liberty's curls also display glimmers of luster. We note only a diagonal line on the upper right obverse field.
