1795 Draped Bust, Off Center Dollar
    B-14, BB-51, AU58
Top-Notch Draped Bust, Small Eagle Coin

1795 $1 Draped Bust, Off Center AU58 PCGS. B-14, BB-51, R.2. Early die state, no clash marks. The 1795 Draped Bust, Off Center silver dollar, B-14, BB-51, is one of the most-available varieties of early silver dollar. The B-14, BB-51 variety, and its Centered counterpart, B-15, BB-52, is also quite popular as a large-canvas example of the Draped Bust, Small Eagle design type, for collectors who assemble their holdings in that way -- their half dollar counterparts of the Draped Bust, Small Eagle motif, dated 1796-97, are the rarest silver type in U.S numismatics.

This near-Mint State PCGS example of the B-14, BB-51 is in the upper echelons of a variety that usually appears somewhere in the grade range from Very Fine to Extremely Fine. The generous mint luster of this piece would not be at all out of place on a lightly circulated Morgan dollar of a century hence. The grayish-silver surfaces show no major contact, although some planchet adjustment marks appear through the central reverse, as made at the Mint and not in the least impeding the top-notch eye appeal. Population: 9 in 58, 8 finer (3/14).(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 24X2, PCGS# 96858)

    Weight: 26.96 grams

    Metal: 89.24% Silver, 10.76% Copper
