1795 B-9, BB-13 Dollar, VF25
Scarcer Variety; Attractive Patina

1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves, B-9, BB-13, R.4, VF25 PCGS. Ex: The Peh Family Collection. Bowers-Borckardt Die State II. Both sides are draped in warm reddish-golden patina and a cluster of marks are confined to the area between LI in LIBERTY and the obverse border. A scarcer variety, with Bowers estimating a surviving population of 300-500 examples, even less often seen with clash marks on either side of the portrait. The reverse die has 17 berries in the wreath (nine on the left branch, eight on the right) and was used to strike two die marriages.
