Description
Bold 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar
Two Leaves, B-4, BB-14
1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves Genuine PCGS. B-4, BB-14,
R.3. The PCGS number ending in .91 suggests Questionable Color
as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this
coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of an
AU specimen that has been cleaned and retoned. The deep dove-gray
toning provides a stained appearance. A minor lamination is noted
between the RI in AMERICA, and light adjustment marks (as made) are
seen near Liberty's ear. The scarcer Bolender-4 variety is uniquely
identified by its 9x8 berry allocation on the wreath. Minimal
highpoint wear and the absence of obvious marks make the present
piece desirable despite its subdued look.(Registry values: P4, N4)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BNJK, PCGS# 6853, Greysheet# 7147)
