    Description

1795 Flowing Hair Dollar, Two Leaves, XF45
    B-4, BB-14
    'Hidden Star' Below Bust

1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves XF45 NGC. B-4, BB-14, R.3. Star 15 is closer to the date than on any other variety from this year and type; it is located entirely under the bust, where Liberty cannot "see it;" the only 1795 obverse die with this characteristic. 9 and 5 in the date are lightly repunched. There are 17 berries on the reverse: 9 to the left and eight to the right.

Nicely detailed with deeper shades of olive-gray and charcoal-gray dominating, leaving the high points of the design to show light-gray color. The surfaces are essentially smooth and free of individually noteworthy marks, save for a shallow flaw directly below Liberty's ear.(Registry values: P4) (NGC ID# 24WZ, PCGS# 6853)
