Attractive 1798 5 Stripes, Knob 9 Dollar
Rare BB-92 Variety, VF35
1798 $1 5 Stripes, Knob 9 VF35 PCGS. B-4, BB-92, R.5. On the
obverse, the upper left star is near the L of LIBERTY but the upper
right star is distant from Y, and the base of R is above the bases
of adjacent E and T. On the reverse, the leaf points to the left
corner of I in AMERICA, and there are raised die defects between
upper part of AT in STATES. Light to medium intensity gray
patination displays soft gold undertones on the obverse. This well
defined Choice VF piece is minimally abraded. Attractive overall
eye appeal for a coin that has seen moderate circulation.
