1798 Heraldic Eagle Dollar, Toned AU53
    Pointed 9, B-13, BB-108

1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9, 10 Arrows, B-13, BB-108, R.2, AU53 NGC. Bowers Die State IV. Struck from a late state of the obverse die and from a lightly relapped reverse die. The BB-108 variety is readily available in grades through the About Uncirculated level, but is rare when Uncirculated. This AU53 example is richly toned in bluish-brown shades with golden highlights in protected areas. Traces of mint luster survive. Sharply defined and well-centered, this example shows a few light marks commensurate with the grade. It retains nice, original eye appeal.
