1798 Heraldic Eagle Silver Dollar
B-29, BB-119, Choice AU
1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9 AU55 NGC. B-29, BB-119, R.4.
A crisply detailed and partly lustrous example of this transitional
silver dollar date. After minting from two of the earlier Small
Eagle dies, the remainder of the year's issue consists of the
Heraldic Eagle type. This piece has light honey-gold toning and a
good strike. Prolonged study beneath a loupe discovers a few
unobtrusive marks, such as near the D in UNITED and the E in
AMERICA. A nice representative of this scarce variety.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24X6, PCGS# 6873, GSID# 7158)
