Description
1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9, Close Date, B-28, BB-118, R.3 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. Bowers Die State V. BB-118 is an interesting variety in its later die stages, where prominent die cracks on the obverse are accompanied by equally impressive cracks on the reverse and a large retained cud near the eagle's tail. The even, slate-gray surfaces are a bit glossy and overly smooth on this example, with areas of possible repair beneath Liberty's chin and among the central field stars.
