Usual Die State, Excellent Type Example

1799 $1 7x6 Stars, B-9, BB-166, R.1, VF30 NGC. Bowers-Borckardt Die State III. The usually seen die state, with tiny die cracks below 1 in the date, from neck to touching chin, and "apostrophe" crack on reverse past STATES. This piece shows moderate circulation but maintains good eye appeal, with charcoal-gray fields and lighter dove-gray devices. An excellent example for type collectors.
Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 11/2012), lot 3786.
