Description
1800 $1 B-1, BB-181, R.5, VF20 PCGS. Bowers Die State I. Medium to deep lavender, navy-blue, and golden-brown toning encompasses attractive surfaces. A thin mark is noted southwest of the first A in AMERICA. Bolender-1 is a much better variety attributed by die lumps near obverse star 11. The first T in STATES is repunched, but that is not diagnostic since the reverse die also struck BB-182.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24X9, Variety PCGS# 40067, Base PCGS# 6887, Greysheet# 199129)
