1800 B-4, BB-186 Dollar, AU55
Attractive Example of a Scarce Variety

1800 $1 B-4, BB-186, R.4, AU55 NGC. Ex: The Peh Family Collection. Bowers-Borckardt Die State II. Even, medium gray patina provides especially exceptional eye appeal with noticeable mint luster around the devices. Strike is sharp, save for slight softness on the highpoints of Liberty's curls and the eagle's breast. This reverse is easily identified by the string of die flaws around the second S in STATES. Unlike many 1800 dollar varieties, BB-186 is scarce overall but relatively available in AU condition.
