This variety is instantly recognized by the die chips in and around the first 0 in the date. This is the latest die state seen on this variety, with many more die chips or blobs than usual. An especially popular variety, the Dotted Date has been listed in the Guide Book for many years. Pale violet-gray color with golden toning on the devices. A diagonal mark on Liberty's neck is the only singularly noticeable blemish, although the usual grade-consistent abrasions are present.
