Dark steel gray in the fields, with lighter gray on the devices. Later die state with the obverse die swelling from the rims to stars two and three and another area of swelling above stars eight, nine and ten. Identifiable by a minor scratch from Liberty's ribbon to the field below her chin and some nicks on the lower right section of the shield.
