1802 $1 Narrow Date XF45 PCGS. B-6, BB-241, R.1.
Bowers-Borckardt Die State III, most commonly seen state (lapped
die). Subtle luster filters through violet-gray toning with
golden-tan edge accents. In the right obverse field, a "bar" of
raised metal is not a die feature but actually a post-striking
flaw; close inspection shows the "fresh metal" along the bottom
edge.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24XB, Variety PCGS# 6895, Base PCGS# 40087, GSID# 7176)
