Large 3, B-6, BB-255
1803 $1 Large 3 AU55 ANACS. B-6, BB-255, R.2. Light
golden-brown toning drapes both sides, although the right borders
display powder-blue, lemon-gold, and ruby-red patina. Sharply
struck and partly lustrous with moderately bright surfaces. The
Large 3 variety likely accounted for the 1804 delivery that led to
the famous novodel proofs decades later.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 6901, GSID# 7181)
