Description

1803 Small 3 Dollar, VF35
Scarce B-1, BB-251 Variety

1803 $1 Small 3, B-1, BB-251, R.4, VF35 PCGS. Bowers Die State II. BB-251 is an elusive die variety attributed by a radial crack through the left serifs of the R in LIBERTY. A problem-free stone-gray representative with slightly deeper toning on the lower half of the reverse. No marks are remotely distracting, and the strike is good aside from softness on the stars opposite Liberty's high-relief shoulder.
From The Austin Collection.
