Description
1803 Silver Dollar, VF30
B-5, BB-252, Small 3
1803 $1 Small 3, B-5, BB-252, R.3, VF30 NGC. Ex: William
Luebke Collection. Like so many other early dollar issues, Mint
State pieces are scarce, with the majority of certified pieces in
the Fine to XF range. NGC reports just 14 examples of the 1803 in
Mint State across all varieties (4/26). This 1803 B-5 has a perfect
obverse die, as always. The light gray surfaces exhibit rich gold
toning and traces of luster in the protected areas, and only a few
wispy nicks are noted.Ex: Alpine Numismatics (5/2005); FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2007), lot 5047.
