1795 B-14, BB-51 Dollar, VF30
Inaugural Draped Bust Issue
1795 $1 Draped Bust, Off-Center, B-14, BB-51, R.2, VF30 PCGS
Secure. Bowers Die State II. Faint clash marks appear above the
wreath through the O in OF. B-14 is believed to be the first Draped
Bust variety of any denomination struck for circulation. This
example, like most BB-51 dollars, is struck slightly off-center
toward 6 o'clock on the obverse. Ivory-gray surfaces show glimpses
of chestnut and sky-blue toning. A problem-free example with
remarkably unabraded rims. A few faded adjustment marks occur near
Liberty's ear and the right obverse margin.Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2008), lot 1750.
