Description
Elusive 1795 BD-5 Eagle, AU Details
1795 $10 13 Leaves--Scratched--NCS. AU Details. Breen-6830, Taraszka-5, BD-5, R.5. The obverse has 10 stars to the left, with the upper left star separated from the cap. The reverse has a bold die chip between the F and A. This scarce variety is seldom encountered, and examples are always in strong demand from a growing number of variety collectors. While the surfaces are noticeably abraded, as they are on most early gold coins, the description that this piece is scratched seems harsh. Both sides have brilliant green-gold surfaces with considerable luster.(Registry values: P5)
