    Description

AU Details 1800 Ten Dollar, BD-1

1800 $10 -- Reverse Scratched -- NGC Details. AU. BD-1, High R.3. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/c with various cracks on both sides. The only die variety for this better date. The borders are dominated by peach-red luster and the devices show only slight wear on such high points as the cap folds and shoulder. An intermittent diagonal scratch between the U in UNITED and the right shield corner corresponds to the NGC designation. No other marks are remotely worthy of comment, though both sides are moderately hairlined. The 1800 has a reported mintage of 5,999 pieces and much of the production was exported and melted shortly after issue. Dannreuther estimates 200 to 300 survivors.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# BFYT, PCGS# 8563)
