Description

    Visually Alluring 1801 Eagle AU53, BD-2

1801 $10 AU53 PCGS. Breen-6843, Taraszka-25, BD-2, R.2. The depth of the lime-gold and apricot toning is this coin's most obvious visual attribute. A surprising amount of remaining luster also contributes to the eye appeal of the piece. The grade is limited by a modest degree of highpoint wear and by the presence of a few scattered abrasions on each side. According to Garrett and Guth (2006): "The 1801 eagle has a high mintage and is noted for having the second-highest surviving population (after 1799), thus it is an excellent choice as one of the more affordable dates of the type."(Registry values: P1) (NGC ID# 2627, PCGS# 8564)

    Weight: 17.50 grams

    Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
