    Description

    Affordable 1801 Ten Dollar

1801 $10 --Repaired, Scratched, Whizzed--ANACS. AU Details, Net VF20. B. 2-B, Taraszka 25, R.3. The surfaces have been obviously cleaned at one time, and are now retoned a honey-gold color with subtle reddish undertones. That being said, the coin has extraordinary detail with strong definition on most of the stars on both sides, sharp feather detail on the eagle, and a relatively strong E PLURIBUS UNUM. The design elements are nicely centered on the planchet. A few shallow scratches are present on the obverse, mostly extending from the center of Liberty's portrait into the left field. A long, shallow scratch on the reverse from the rim at 11 o'clock traverses the clouds on the upper right, the tip of the eagle's left wing, and the first A in AMERICA. The right obverse field appears to have been smoothed, and there is what seems to be metal dislocation between the C and A of AMERICA.
