Description

1803 BD-3 Ten Dollar, AU Details
Small Reverse Stars

1803 $10 Small Reverse Stars, BD-3, R.4 -- Harshly Cleaned -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/d, with heavy clash marks on both sides. Most prominent are an outline of Liberty's portrait on the reverse and a "ghost" of the date amid the TES in STATES, produced by clashing. This Small Stars Reverse type coin is well-detailed in the centers, although it lacks sharpness on the left-hand obverse stars and on the clouds below OF. The lower edge of the bust truncation is also indistinct. Bright yellow-gold in color from being cleaned.
Ex: U.S. Coins Signature (Heritage, 3/2019), lot 3291.
