    1795 Ten Dollar, AU Sharpness
    13 Leaves, BD-1

1795 $10 13 Leaves, BD-1, High R.3 -- Plugged -- NCS. AU Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/a, an unlisted combination. Delicate cracks connect several left-side stars, but the reverse is without cracks. A spur from the upper-left serif of the Y in LIBERTY is the pick-up point for BD-1, the first half eagle die marriage. BD-1 edges out the 1796 BD-1 as the most available Small Eagle variety, and is subject to strong demand from early gold type collectors. This almond-gold example is sharply detailed. A hole has been amateurishly plugged at 12 o'clock on the obverse and 6 o'clock on the reverse. Dentils near the hole are repaired, as is the IB in LIBERTY. Both sides are hairlined but otherwise unabraded.
