    Fine Details 1792 Half Disme
    Coveted Judd-7 Type

1792 H10C Half Disme, Judd-7, Pollock-7, R.4 -- Bent -- NGC Details. Fine. The 1792 half disme is a legendary issue, the "small beginning" of coinage by the United States, as President Washington put it in a National Address, that would lead to the billions of coins produced in Philadelphia each year. Any survivor from the very scarce issue is a prize. While this piece was bent and later straightened with significant design loss on the steel-and-charcoal reverse, the central portrait of Liberty on the obverse is intact. A pinscratch up from the forehead to the top of the obverse rim also warrants mention. Despite its faults, this is an important coin that any number of collectors would be proud to own.
