    Description

    Moderately Worn 1792 Half Disme
    Intriguing Example of Judd-7

1792 H10C Half Disme, Judd-7, Pollock-7, R.4, PCGS Genuine. The PCGS number ending in .84 suggests Holing and Plugging as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, the piece has the details of a VF specimen that has been holed and plugged. This coin clearly was holed at one time at the Y of INDUSTRY (corresponding area between OF and AMERICA on the reverse) and since has been plugged and skillfully repaired. Medium-gray hues are visible where peach shadings on both sides and reverse charcoal-gray are not. Though an impaired coin, the piece comes across as pleasing under casual inspection, and even closer attention is rewarding once the viewer takes the plug into account. An important opportunity to own an issue that might otherwise be inaccessible.(Registry values: P9, N9) (NGC ID# D93T, PCGS# 11020)
