    Description

    Near-Mint 1794 Half Dime, V-4, LM-4
Most Available Variety of the Year

1794 H10C AU58 PCGS. V-4, LM-4, R.4. The LM-4 die marriage is slightly more available than the other three varieties for the first-year 1794 issue, although still very scarce in the absolute sense. The date is low and distant from the hair curls and the bust. Two points of star 1 touch the lowest two curls, but star 15 is distant from the neck tip (which is quite sharp) and presents but a single point toward the neck. On the reverse there is a single leaf under the U and a single berry under the I, both in UNITED. Glints of blue and jade patina appear around the periphery, with pinkish-gray centers on this stunning near-Mint piece, which shows little wear. A die crack runs through the center obverse at the hairline through curl 4. A few tiny planchet flaws are not overt but recognizable under a loupe. A nice example for first-year type collectors. For the date, Population: 12 in 58, 43 finer (4/11).(Registry values: P6) (NGC ID# 22ZT, PCGS# 4250)

    Weight: 1.35 grams

    Metal: 89.24% Silver, 10.76% Copper
