Description

    1794 Half Dime, V-4, LM-4, AU58
    Sharp First-Year Flowing Hair Example

1794 H10C V-4, LM-4, R.4, AU58 NGC. The date sits low beneath curl and bust, while the reverse has three inner berries but no outer berries beneath the left (facing) wing. A total of seven berries left and five berries right confirm the LM-4 variety, which is more available than other 1794 die pairs but still scarce as a representative of the challenging 1794 Flowing Hair half dimes.

This near-Mint example displays a number of visual attributes, including a bold, even strike, an almost complete absence of perceptible wear, and a lack of detracting adjustment marks. Both sides show consistent steel-gray coloration with hints of luster in the fields. A few deeper gray toning streaks and light abrasions angle up from left to right on the obverse, but they are a trivial distraction at most. Census (all 1794 varieties): 18 in 58 (1 in 58+), 52 finer (8/16). (NGC ID# 22ZT, Variety PCGS# 38584, Base PCGS# 4250)

    Weight: 1.35 grams
