Description

    1794 V-4, LM-4 Half Dime, MS64
    Unabraded, Well Struck

1794 H10C V-4, LM-4, R.4, MS64 PCGS. A stone-gray near-Gem with blushes of walnut-brown near the peripheries and profile. Essentially free from post-strike abrasions, although the obverse margin exhibits adjustment marks, as coined. The fields display clash marks, and each side has a few delicate die cracks. The 1794 is the scarcer of the two Flowing Hair dates, and was among the first silver issues struck by the fledgling Philadelphia Mint. However, LM-4 was presumably struck in 1795, since die progression indicates it was coined after the rare 1795 LM-1 and LM-2 varieties, which share the same reverse die. For all 1794 die varieties, the PCGS Population is 11 in 64 (2 in 64+), 10 finer (4/15). (NGC ID# 22ZT, Variety PCGS# 38584, Base PCGS# 4250)
