    1794 Half Dime, V-4, LM-4, XF45
    Attractive and Well-Preserved

1794 H10C V-4, LM-4, R.4, XF45 PCGS. Several stars are widely recut on some of their points. Steel-gray surfaces display dappled blue and olive overtones with traces of silver luster peeking through. Choice surfaces are sharply struck and minimally marked for the XF grade, with a few scattered remnants of adjustment marks on the reverse that are visible under a loupe yet unseen to the unaided eye. Half dimes were the first denomination struck at the United States Mint dated 1794, although some (or all) of the reported mintage of 7,756 pieces was struck in 1795.
