    Description

1795 MS 64 PCGS. V-5, R.3. Undoubtedly from the Wadsworth-Rea hoard, but far superior quality to most pieces we have seen from that group. The dual impression one gets when viewing this coin is of thick mint luster and deep, multicolored toning. The striking details are weakly impressed in the center of each side, and this is probably enough to prevent a gem grade. The obverse is toned in deep shades of blue, rust, and golden-gray. The reverse, on the other hand, is a monochromatic golden-rose. Strong eye appeal and quality that is all too rarely seen in early half dimes. Population: 11 in 64, 9 finer. (NGC ID# 22ZV, PCGS# 4251)

    Weight: 1.35 grams

    Metal: 89.24% Silver, 10.76% Copper
