    Description

    1796 Half Dime, AU53
    V-1, LM-1, LIKERTY

1796 H10C LIKERTY, V-1, LM-1, R.3, AU53 PCGS. Ex: Troy Wiseman Collection. The motifs are expertly centered with sharp definition that is virtually unhindered by the light trace of wear across the highpoints. A shallow planchet void (as produced) is noted behind Liberty's head, but the dove-gray surfaces are free of unduly bothersome circulation marks. Both the surface preservation and the eye appeal are premium quality for the grade. When this coin was offered by Bowers and Merena in 1992, it was part of a remarkable 1796 type set, complete from half cent to gold.
Ex: Witham and Sansoucy Collections (Bowers & Merena, 9/1992), lot 1029; ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2001), lot 5616; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2006), lot 1195.
